Femina Miss India Visits Deepalaya!

“What struck me the most about this School was that it strives towards the overall development of underprivileged children,” was what Ms. Manasvi Mamgai, Pantaloons Femina Miss India (PFMI) World’ 2010 had to say during her visit to Deepalaya School, Sanjay Colony on 30th July, 2010. She mentioned that the cause of educating the underprivileged was the closest to her heart and she found Deepalaya to be doing the best of the work in this sector. The Miss India was all nostalgic when she saw a student dancing on the song Dhim Kane Dhani (from “Thakshak”). She said that, “I am touched by the performances of the students as it took me back in time when I used to be involved in all such activities.” Further, to showcase the talent and creativity of the students of Deepalaya, an exhibition was organized wherein their artworks, paintings, creative-write-ups etc. that they have prepared during their summer vacations were displayed. She was delighted to see the craft work by the students and picked one of the key chains for herself too. She went ahead to interact with the students who were eagerly waiting to take a glimpse of the Miss India. It is truly said that “if we will dream high then only we can achieve high”. When Miss India was interacting with the students of Deepalaya from one classroom to the other, one of the students wished that “Even I want to become a Miss India one day”. At that moment, her eyes were beaming brightly with confidence and aspiration. Miss India smiled and wished her for the future. The students were really excited to see her and were literally pouncing on each other to get her autograph. She too signed all their notebooks patiently. She was amazed after witnessing the enthusiasm the students had when they asked her questions relating to her hobby, food, her childhood memories, further plans for international pageant etc. All in all it was an interactive session and the children presented her with a hand-made card. Miss India expressed her desire to meet the Children of Deepalaya in the near future yet again! It was a moment of Joy and Happiness all over the school and all of them wished her for her next international pageant.
