Shinnyo En Japan – giving wings to the underprivileged
A team from Shinnyo En Japan visited Deepalaya Learning Center, Sanjay Colony on 15th September, 2016. The organization has been supporting girls, who studied from Deepalaya and strive for serving the society after pursuing Nursing. Since 2007 they have supported 14 girls. Out of these 14, 12 have completed their Nursing and two are pursuing the course. This year, they have extended their support to two more girls – Ms. Sangeet and Ms. Durga, who will be enrolling for GNM Course shortly.
Apart from the financial support, the organization has always tried to stay in touch with beneficiaries and have been visiting India to meet these girls almost every year. Ms. Shikha, Project-in-charge coordinated with the team and made necessary arrangements. The team was happy to interact with 11 girls who came to meet and talk with their patrons, who helped them in shaping their future. They spoke about their achievements, their dreams and aspirations, and thanked Shinnyo for the support.
A small film depicting how the organization was founded and how a small contribution from temple is set aside for educating these girls and others who need support was shown to them. The team motivated the girls to move out into the world and help others who are in need after they complete their education and are self-sufficient to support themselves and their families. This will help in spreading the message of love and be of help to humanity. The girls presented cards to the team to show their love and gratitude. They also received small gifts from the group.
The team was also interested to meet the teachers in the Nursing College. The college principal was informed about the visit. They were then taken to SOS Nursing College in Faridabad so that they can have an overview of the Institute where the girls were studying and the facilities they were receiving. The Principal of the college Mrs. Janet Chaudhary welcomed the team, took them around the classes and showed them the laboratories etc. The visit went off very well.
Back from Japan, we received a touching message from Naoya Sugazawa, (Doctrinal Affairs Section) expressing his happiness over the way the girls have improved, especially about Pinky and Aayushi, who were very shy last year but were comfortable interacting with the team during the visit.
