STEADY Returns - the second inning of Deepalaya and Asian Paints program

The first day of the new innings of the STEADY program started with a fresh zeal and a promise to train the trainees for self-defense. The program also aims to give a clear vision in the life of children with career counselling sessions.

The session started with welcome speech by Mr. N N Sharma, Principal of RK Public School, Kasna, Greater Noida. He spoke about importance of self-defense and career counselling sessions. Then Mr. Virender, Assistant Manager Programs talked about how these sessions will be conducted during this time and some of the students will be selected for another training to train them like professionals. After that Mr. Roy apprised the students and school staff about Deepalaya, Asian Paints and idea behind STEADY program.

On the first day, there were 41 girls for the self-defense session. The trainers from MAAFAI, the agency for providing self-defense training, kicked off the session with warming up exercises like bending of hands, inhaling and exhaling exercise. Thereafter, they taught punching, kicking, attacking and defensive techniques.

It was a pleasure to see children with bright faces and a zeal to learn. Towards the end, children received some refreshments to fill their belly and went to their classes. The session ended with thank you note and a group photo of first session of program STEADY returns.
