Education (Annual Report 2011)

Education

Deepalaya’s education programme forms the pillar of development agenda which the founder members set off with in 1979. The formal education, non-formal education, and the distance education program have impacted the lives of thousands of children who have come under its fold.

Students enjoying their free timeThe 6 Deepalaya Formal schools - Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony (DSSC), Deepalaya School Gole Kuan (DSGK), Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension (DSKE), Ramditti J.R Narang Deepalaya School (RJRND), Deepalaya School Gusbethi (DSG), and Deepalaya School Titron-have brought a positive development in the lives of many students. The schools have seen many children make a timid entry into the world of academics, talent development, life skills training etc and then take off to a world of empowerment, opportunities and self-reliance.

Deepalaya School Tirtron has arrived

Deepalaya School Titron has arrived. With 200 students enrolled by the end of the first year of operation (2009-10) the School had to move out of the partnership with the Lala Bhagwan Das Memorial Society in June 2010. The overwhelming response of the parents in helping us secure an alternate accommodation left us touched. The School started operating from the premises of the Guru Ravidas Mandir in July 2010. Support from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany added on infrastructural support- desks and chairs, fun stations which changed the look of the School and made it more appealing. “My school is the best,” says Pooja who joined in 2009.

The teachings at all the Deepalaya Schools is not restricted to just academics, rather education at Deepalaya focuses on developing the entire personality of a child to bloom into a confident, responsible and contributing citizen of India.
The positions reached by our alumni in various professions as ‘enlightening’ teachers at Deepalaya and elsewhere, as ‘healing’ nurses, ‘promising’ professionals in the Corporate world etc. bears witness to this fact.
