Recruiting Trainers for English Teachers

Background:
The US Embassy is supporting the teaching of English to 14-18 year old students from disadvantaged communities. Each centre has a batch of 100 students who are taught in groups of 25 by 4 -6 teachers .In Delhi this program will be administered by Deepalaya, an NGO that specializes in education for the underprivileged.

Trainers will be required to meet 6-8 Access Teachers for 12 hours a month which may be split over 3-4 days for a period of 2 years. This will include training the Access Teachers on activities / tasks which will help students improve their communicative skills. In addition trainers will observe classes and give individual or collective feedback

Applicants will have:

  • Some formal training in English Language teaching e.g. Certificate /Diploma/ MA in English Language teaching from EFL-U, IGNOU
  • At least three years experience of training Teachers of English
  • Are familiar with new approaches teaching English with creative ideas on making the learning of English fun and enjoyable.
  • Willing to commit time for the duration of the project and further training
