REACH India stands for ‘Reaching & Educating At-risk Children’. This is a project jointly carried out by the American Institutes for Research (AIR), Juarez and Associates, Michigan State University and World Education under the auspices of the Educational Quality Improvement Program. Role of Deepalaya

  • Identification and selection of sub-grantees
  • Capacity Building of Sub-Grantees, through training programmes designed for Organization Development, Programme Planning & Implementation, and Financial Management
  • Scrutiny and approval of project proposals and budgets of Sub-Grantees in consultation with REACH India
  • Approval, disbursement and administration of financial support to Sub-Grantees
  • Guidance to Sub-Grantees in the implementation of the programme through training at Deepalaya Human Resource Center and guidance at programme sites
  • Documentation and reporting to REACH India

The Budget

Overall budget for a period of 35 months from October 04 to August 07, is Rupees 1.72 crores, out of which nearly 77% is for the six selected NGOs, called Sub-grantees for implementing a 30 months’ (February 05 to July 07) programme and the rest is on Deepalaya for building the capacities of these sub-grantees and guiding in the implementation of the programme.
