The Screaming Jacksons:

For seventeen years, a family from South West London have been writing, recording and releasing their Christmas songs to raise money for charity. Now they’ve teamed up with legendary lounge singer Lenny Beige for their most funky festive offering yet.

“A Merry Lenny Christmas” was recorded with Beige – aka actor Steve Furst – after he heard the family’s festive charity songs last year. Now The Screaming Jacksons supergroup has released the song to raise money for Deepayala.

Every time someone listens to the song “Christmas Everywhere” on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, or any digital music service, money goes to Deepalaya.

Lenny Beige said: “Christmas is a time for loving, for giving, for caring, for sharing – and that’s exactly what we’re doing here. Making a bit of money for great organisations that do great things – all through the power of music. Bless you all this holiday season.”

It’s almost two decades since The Screaming Jacksons released their first song – Sleigh Bells and Holly – and began sharing it as their “musical Christmas card”. The idea started in 2006 years ago when Dad Stuart Jackson got fed up of not hearing any new Christmas songs in the charts.

Stuart Jackson said: “Back then the December charts were all taken up by X-Factor winners and the songs had nothing to do with Christmas. I wanted to change that, so started writing my own Christmas songs. My wife and I had the kids sing and gurgle along, and it went from there.”

When they started, the Jackson family children were 2 years old, 6 months old – and one wasn’t even born! Now 15, 17 and almost 19, you can hear the kids grow up singing on the songs, as each new Christmas tune was released.

In recent years, the family have raised thousands of pounds since putting them on digital music services, giving people across the world the opportunity to experience the songs and raise a bit of money just by listening to them.

He added: “We raise money for charities all over the world – some household names, others in our local community – but every single penny we make goes to them and, we hope, make a little bit of a difference at this time of year.”
